HA Sorting CeremonyThe Great Hall is filled with excited whispers as first-year students gather at the front of the room, their wide eyes glancing around at the magical floating candles, the enchanted ceiling mimicking the night sky, and the long tables filled with older students, eagerly awaiting the new additions to their houses. The air buzzes with anticipation. Professor McGonagall stands before them, her face stern but kind, holding the ancient Sorting Hat in her hands. A single stool sits before her, bathed in the glow of the surrounding candles.Professor McGonagall:
With a clear, firm voice that echoes through the hall: "Welcome to Hogwarts, first years. In a moment, you will be sorted into one of the four houses. Each house has its own rich history, and each student brings something special to their house. The Sorting Hat will read your thoughts and see into your heart to decide where you truly belong. You may end up in Gryffindor, known for bravery and daring; Hufflepuff, where loyalty and hard work are prized; Ravenclaw, home to those with wit and wisdom; or Slytherin, where ambition and cunning lead the way." She gestures toward the worn, patched Sorting Hat: "Now, when I call your name, please come forward, sit on the stool, and place the hat on your head." The first student nervously steps forward as McGonagall reads the name aloud, and the Sorting Hat speaks quietly in their ear. One by one, the students are sorted into their houses, each greeted by cheers and applause from their new housemates.Sorting Hat:
As the next student sits on the stool and the hat is placed on their head, its voice echoes within their mind, wise and ancient: "Ah, another young witch or wizard eager to begin their journey at Hogwarts. But where to place you, hmm? Tell me, what drives you? Is it bravery, loyalty, intelligence, or ambition that guides your heart?" The Sorting Hat will ask a series of questions, probing the student’s thoughts to determine where they belong. Each question is met with the student's quiet responses, though the words are heard only in their mind.
To complete your sorting ceremony, copy the following template and paste it into a new thread inside the Sorting Ceremony forum. Answer the questions as truthful as possible to ensure you are sorted into the right house. Please allow the staff at least 24 hours to sort you into your house. It likely will not take more than an hour, but there are tines where staff are extremely busy or offline. Hence, we ask you give them 24 hours to complete your ceremony. Should you decide you are unhappy with where the Sorting Hat has placed you, you will have 24 hours to respond in your sorting thread to let the staff know you would like a different house. You must specify which house you'd like to be sorted into in that reply. After the initial 24-hour period (the 24 hours after a staff member posts your house assignment), you will not be able to change your house for a period of six months. So, please be sure you're happy with your assigned house and respond accordingly. Sorting Ceremony Post Template
